Jiggly jiggly jiggly puff.

P.S. I haven't work on my flash movie lately. I better start whipping something on it or else it'll never finish.

Some old short animations I really like.

More to come. This is also my favourite Tom and Jerry episode back then.

"The Cat Concerto"

.

BTW the music that's being played in this movie is called Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2 by Franz Liszt.

"Hedgehog in the Fog"

.

An old Russian animated short film.

Changing my reviewing standards from now on.

Posted by Sonni Mar. 8, 2008 @ 10:53 AM EST

Ok I admit it, I think I'm VERY biased or too generous when it comes to review after reading back the old ones. I'm bound to give movies that I got "first good impression" almost full scores and this happens very often with parody movies. So I decided to revise some guidelines for myself to follow from now on. I'm going to use three standards (the first two will be most frequent) for reviewing by the way.

"The Normal Standard" - For flash artists who submitted here often and professional flash artists.

The main factors that will decide for it would be ORIGINALITY, animation techniques, it's graphic style and the overall presentation (storyline, choice of music, etc.) Would stuffs like video games parodies ever get a full score? Well if the joke is UNIQUE and it really entertains me then you can expect that score I guess. I gave MGA series a 10 and now I personally think I kinda overrated the movie. The score it should be getting should be around 8. It's still great stuff though.

"The Noob Standard" - For first timers and people who are still very new to the flash world.

The main factors that will decide for it would be the creativity of the IDEA, how it's overall presentation, graphic and animation techniques came as last deciding factor because if I were to compare a newcomer with some veteran like Adam Phillips they'll never GET A CHANCE. I'm going to be pretty generous when using this review standard.

"The Joke Standard" - For movies that I don't want to be too serious about :P

Just like what the title said. Joke standard. Not to be taken seriously.

Voting Score:

10-9 = 5
8-7 = 4
6-5 = 3
4-3 = 2
2-1 = 1
0 = 0

So yeah, tell what you think about my new reviewing standards.

My Ultimate Tablet

Posted by Sonni Feb. 25, 2008 @ 1:22 PM EST

Everyone always want a Wacom to draw flash movies with right? Me too, but because of my limited budget I decided to start off with a small investment and I bought this tablet about 4 years ago. The size is only around 4"x3" (my bad I thought it was 4x6), it also lacks pressure sensitivity and it needs battery to operate as well (unlike Wacom.)

Originally I never plan to use it to draw flash, I was going to use it to draw some online comic (which I ditched already) and now it proves to be useful in flash as well. I once asked a "Wiseman" about getting a tablet which is supposed to be bigger and better and he said that size doesn't really matter. Getting bigger tablet doesn't mean that you'll draw better. In fact, you need to do more arm movement and if you want to draw small details you can always use the zoom function. However, if you're going to use it for more than just drawing flash movie then it would be better to get bigger ones I supposed. Otherwise, it's going to be a waste of money especially if it's going to be your first tablet.

So therefore, I decided to stick with my tablet until it dies. That's when I'm going to buy a Wacom.

And guess what, this tablet costs only $30. He's called "Genius".
